Course Description
The Laboratory Information System (LIS) is a core element in our daily work as medical laboratory professional. We use it to review patient and sample data, record our test results, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and much more. Having the ability to understand how the LIS works can help you troubleshoot more effectively when problems arise – especially useful for those nightmare ‘all-hands-on-deck’ shifts. And being able to navigate through the informatics domain, will help you facilitate better and more efficient communication with other healthcare professionals.
What will you learn?
Recognize the key components of an LIS.
Develop a basic approach to testing an LIS.
Identify how the LIS connects and works with instruments and software systems.
